I was wondering why so many Muslims were getting upset about some cartoons and set about to see what they looked like. I found a few images on my own and then a few others with the help of comments here. I know that it is offensive for muslims to view an image of the Prophet but this is for others to see what all the furor is about. These embrace the overall Muslim theme, not just Muhammad. yeah, I laughed man!!! hahahaha...I don't know why!! I m ex-muslim.. I'm so sorry about this fact. but even if I'm still muslim I would not mind... it is JUST A CARTOOOON!! but islamists declare their war on cartoon....becareful pokemon!!

These and I'm sure many now to follow, are frighteningly similar to war propaganda you find in U.S. WWII newspapers depicting Germans and Japanese (as well as big-breasted mothers slaving over a hot stoves to please their dope husbands). Yes, it is ridiculous that people get outraged by such nonsense, but fundamentalists of any sort get off on being outraged. Just imagine what it's going to be like if they have it their (our?) way. You thought prohibition was bad.
The second cartoon has the women in black with just eyes showing; Mohammed just with eyes covered - i.e. that he is / Muslim ruling men are blindly leading their people into chaos and bloodshed. IMO anyway
Fundamentalists who search out and publicize obscure blasphemies to be shocked by remind me of the story of the old lady who complained to the manager that she could see a naked man from her hotel room window. The manager went to investigate and replied that he could see no such thing, to which the old lady protested "You can if you stand on top of the wardrobe!" (UK version - not sure what the US equivalent is - large free-standing clothes closet piece of funiture - cf Thurber's first-wife-on-top-of-the-bookcase cartoon,but that's all rather spoilt the punch-line hasn't it?)
Anyway - nowadays, unfortunately, the old lady on top of the wardrobe has a beard and an AK47.
I went to the supermarket today just to discover that Danish and Norwegian goods were banned. What gives?? That's it. I was watching this whole affair with eyes half shut, but now I am SO going to blog about it from the Western girl living in the Middle East perspective...

I'm not being ethnoccentric; I was raised as a Muslim in a multiculttural society, where we have to preserve racial and religious harmony, and I understand that all religions require a lot of FAITH. Which also means to believe what we can't physically see or comprehend. It's too bad that people can't tolerate, or at least respect one's beliefs. Society is crumbling. The end of the world is approaching. May Allah forgive us all. Amin.

I really appreciate the message of the cartoon showing a Muslim man outraged by the cartoons, yet completely unconcerned by the atrocities that go on around him every day. I think you can freely speak about the tenants and attitudes in Muslim society that you don't agree with, like in the cartoon I referenced above, without resorting to 6th-grade taunting of the faith's diety. What point is being made? What constructive dialogue is being created? None.
The main problem non-Muslims have with many Muslim socieities is how they treat their women, condone the murder of "infidels" - i.e. innocent people - in the name of Islam, and tend to monologue loud and long but dialogue very little. These are problems with the behavior of some Muslim cultures today, not with Mohammed himself, right? So while some of you guys are like, Screw religion and the idiots offended by those cartoons ... you yourself are acting like idiots. Immature ding-dongs and spazy, judgmental hyper-Muslims cancel each other out. Neither of you merit legitimate attention.
As a Christian, I roll my eyes at both the radical fundamentalists of my faith and the "enlightened" secularists around me who think I'm living in the Dark Ages. I myself have to remember to project assurance in my faith, but not superiority as well. One side of the spectrum is just as narrow-minded as the other.
But if someone from either side voices a concern, question or thought-out opinion in a civil manner ... I'm all ears.

One would hope a reasonable person to think that this is a sign of changing times and that Muslims should take a look at themselves hard. Instead, they ask the West to look at itself harder. Just hypocrisy my muslim friends.
We have gone to great lengths to read many repeatedly misinterpreted verses on the NET and whenever I ask my muslim friends what it means, they just say it is misinterpreted.
But why do you allow such misinterpretation go unchecked & uncorrected???? Isn't that blasphemy in the first place??? Either you are allowing it because it is true or because you guys dont have the guts to stand up to your own brothers and sisters who misuse your religion.
I am sorry. Unless the moderate muslims speak up for their faith and against their extremist siblings, the bad image of Islam is not going to away. And there is a growing doubt that the moderate muslim is a mythical creature. I hope they are proved wrong..

(ps okay, i do agree, there are better ways of overcomming all of this, by being a bit more civilised, yes, violence was not needed at all at the demonstrations)-however it does not justify that you publish these cartoons with the intention of sheer MOCKERY.
Well, I don't consider myself as a believer muslim, but I really didn't like those drawings. they were very poor in quality and meaningless.
I think, it's not the matter of insulting mohammad, and it's not even about the freedom of expression.
it's just a reaction to al qaida, and anti western thoughts in middle east.
and think about the result, how many preachers were needed to find more supporters for radical anti-westerners? I don't know, but I'm sure they should be more than 12
